7 quotes that inspire me to achieve greatness
Everyday I get inspired by combinations of words, often quotes, shared by inspiring people who live or have lived on planet Earth. I sometimes wonder whether the words orginate from humans or angels in disguise, because these words truly touch my heart. When this happens, I stop thinking and reflect on my own life for a moment or two… to eventually and high-likely share it with my brothers, parents, girlfriend or friends. To get inspired, I believe, is an amazing adventure!
Greatness is among my top-list of inspirational words. I think it’s a wonderful word with an extraordinary power. I hereby share some of the, in my opinion, most inspirational words I’ve come across in my search for the true definition of greatness.
“Greatness is very simple. This is what I believe and I’m willing to die for it. Period.”
– Will Smith
“The history of the world is but the biography of great men.”
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”
- Mark Twain
“Great men are not born great, they grow great . . .”
- Mario Puzo (The Godfather)
“Not everybody can be famous but everybody can be great, because greatness is determined by service.”
- Martin Luther King Jr.
“You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust.
You were born with ideals and dreams.
You were born with greatness.
You were born with wings.
You are not meant for crawling, so don’t.
You have wings.
Learn to use them and fly.”
To finish these shared inspirations off in a color of our own, we’ve come up with a definition of greatness ourselves after hours of dedicated research and visualization:
“Greatness is the quality of exceeding limits for the good of mankind.”
- Brothers van Sleeuwen
I believe greatness is an inherent quality of every human being. Everyone has the potential to become great i.e. do something difficult, from the heart which contributes to goodness. It’s nothing more than a matter of perspective. So whether you’re a father at home, a businesswoman in New York, a baker in a little village or a bullied child at school: you can achieve greatness this very moment. Start dreaming and take action upon your dreams, and I’m sure that greatness will follow…
